Stretch yourself - mentally and physically
Are you looking for a new workout?
Are you tired of the mind-numbing repetitive nature of the gym?
Looking for something to challenge your body and your mind?
Then you should try bouldering.
What is Bouldering?
Bouldering is a peeled back low-level version of climbing, taking everyone back to basics with no ropes and no harnesses; just you, your shoes, chalk bag and crashmats. This makes it a great starting point to get into the sport with no expensive equipment needed.
Why Forest Climbing?
Forest Climbing, our indoor bouldering centre in the heart of the Forest of Dean, has something to offer everyone, from the complete novice to the seasoned climber, whether you’re young or old (our oldest climber is in his 70s!).

With colour-coded routes that will have you scratching your head, a bouldering session is tons of fun as well as providing a full-body workout. We change our routes regularly so you’ll never get tired of the same old routes – there’s always a challenge in store, waiting for you.

The thing with bouldering is: you spend so much time thinking about your next hold or the perfect route that you don’t even realise what a great workout you're getting. It’s a win–win.
A Low Cost, Fun Work Out
You don’t need to fork out a fortune to get started – or clad yourself top-to-toe in Lycra. We have everything you need to get started. Just wear some comfy clothes and we can provide the climbing shoes and chalk.

We also have a range of training equipment at the gym so you can strengthen all those key muscle groups and hone your techniques to help you reach your goals. And we also have a well-stocked shop so that when you get the bug (and you will), you can buy your own gear. We stock all the top brands, including Black Diamond, Boreal and DMM. And we guarantee, you won't find cheaper prices anywhere.

Come and join the family at Forest Climbing, where you will enjoy a warm welcome from Beccy and Callum, or one of the other friendly staff, who will show you the ropes. All the staff are fully trained and on hand to help you get the most out of your visit.

Get in touch to book a session. Or become a member and you can pop in for a climb whenever you fancy – no need to book. Party bookings are available and there are refreshments available on site.

And don’t forget to sign up for our newsletter – you’ll get regular updates on our promotional offers, special events, climbing news and competitions.
